Banana

India led the world in banana production, producing around 18% of the worldwide crop of 139 million metric tonnes. Raw bananas are 75% water, 23% carbohydrates, including 12% sugars, 1% protein and 0.3% fat, providing 89 Calories (kcal) per 100 gram amount.
In global commerce, by far the most important cultivars belonged to the triploid AAA group of Musa acuminata, commonly referred to as Cavendish group bananas.

Uses

Bananas are a staple starch for many tropical populations. Both the skin and inner part can be eaten raw or cooked.
